Jan was an investment analyst at Ivor Jones, Roy & Co (now Deutsche
Securities) from 1982 to 1989. He was also a director of the firm.
Subsequently he was involved as an entrepreneur in a broad spread
of industries including mining, manufacture, farming and fund management
– in the latter role as CEO of Syfrets Managed Assets for
a period in the 1990's.
In 2005 he co-founded Osborne Capital along with Niall Brown.
